Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a child she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach and school productions before she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. After eight consistent auditions producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The film set records for its opening and weekend ticket revenues, and was the top-grossing 2001 film. The film received praise from critics, as were the performances of its three new actors. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the film.
